Iran short films to head to Seoul Extreme-Short Film Festival

Four Iranian short films have been scheduled to go on screen at the 9th edition of the Seoul Extreme-Short Image & Film Festival (SESIFF) in South Korea.

The Iranian titles will compete with more than 90 short films from more than 30 countries around the globe.

‘Fan’ by Ali Delkari is about a rural old woman whose TV antenna fails just a few hours before the beginning of a national soccer match. She is trying hard to repair it, but she cannot succeed and there is no man in the village to help her. So she travels to a city and buys a new antenna so that her disabled son can watch the match.

The 14-minute ‘Limbo’ by Qasideh Golmakani tells the story of a former Iraqi sniper who took refuge in Iran and began to tattoo the names of all the soldiers he had killed in the conflicts and wars in Iraq.

Mohammad Farahani’s ‘From Hasakah with Love’ depicts a girl whose family members have been murdered and she is all alone in the city of Hasakah. In order to show her protest to the ongoing massacre, she decided to burn herself in front of a webcam.

‘Pet Man’ by Marzieh Abrar-Paydar tells the story of a pet shop owner who is sleeping in the shop. He sees himself in a scary cage with other animals. Trying to break the cage, he faces a barrier every time.

The 9th edition of the Seoul Int’l Extreme-Short Image & Film Festival is slated for October 23-29, 2017.
